The last time baby Camille came to my Germantown studio, she was only one week old. I was totally smitten with this sweet girl as soon as she walked through the doors at her newborn session. She blew us all away at how amazing she did at her session. I loved Camille’s newborn session so much, that I knew we had a lot to live up to at her six month session.

Camille was even cuter than I remembered, and she even gave me some major baby fever with all her cooing and ahhing. If you follow me on Instagram, then you already saw some of that adorableness on my Instagram story. At six months Camille was working on playing with her toes, pushing up, and being the cutest thing ever. I think we did a pretty good job documenting this precious time in her life. I absolutely love the way her session turned out.

Germantown Memphis Newborn Photographer | Hibatullah

There are some people you meet in life that you never forget – Hibatullah is one of those people. Hibatullah’s story is one of unconditional love and faith; the kind of story that brings tears to your eyes.

When Hibatullah’s mother was pregnant doctors told her, that her baby girl was inviable. Hibatullah’s parents chose to believe otherwise and said as long as their was a heart beat they were keeping the baby. After months of unnerving ultrasounds and doctor visits Hibatullah was born two months early, weighing only 3.75 lbs. She then continued to fight in NICU for the next 70 days, before finally being strong enough to come home. Hibatullah, means “Gift of God,” and I can’t think of a more perfect name for this angel baby.

Hibatullah’s mother contacted me while they were still in NICU, to book her newborn session. Since we didn’t know when she would finally come home, we ended our conversation knowing I would take her newborn portraits when she was discharged. Little did we know, it would be over three months later before I would get to meet that sweet baby. I normally schedule newborn sessions when the baby is roughly 7-10 days old, so that I can be sure to capture that sleepy, curly, newborn stage. Due to her NICU stay, Hibatullah was nearly four months old by the time we did her newborn session. Going into the session, I warned her mother that we might not be able to get the sleepy newborn type poses, due to her age, but that regardless we would capture some beautiful images of her sweet girl.

I planned lots of different set ups for Hibatullah because I wasn’t sure if she would sleep or be awake for our entire session. However, just like Hibatullah shocked the doctors and overcame the odds she was given, she shocked her mother and I and slept her entire session. It made my heart explode, knowing that I was able to capture the sweet newborn portraits that her mother had dreamed of when she contacted me over three months earlier. Hibatullah is truly a “Gift of God” and one inspiring baby.

Memphis Collierville Newborn Photographer – Tilden

One of the greatest parts of being a photographer is watching my clients’ families grow. I was sorority sisters with Tilden’s mom, and have photographed them as long as I have been in business. Tilden’s family is full of energy, always pick out the most perfect outfits, and are as sweet as can be. I am always excited to do a session with them, and without fail I always LOVE the way their sessions turn out.

That being said, Tilden didn’t let the tradition end…. he was an absolute dream baby at his newborn session. I had so many favorites from Tilden’s session that I had the hardest time narrowing them down for his momma to choose. Here are just a few of my favorites.

Memphis Collierville Family Photographer | Holden

Holden came to visit me for his one year portrait session. I can’t believe how much he has grown since his newborn session. I swear my client’s babies seem to grow faster than my own. Holden is beyond adorable; I mean you can’t beat that blonde hair and those blue eyes. Holden’s brother, Hayden, who is equally adorable came as well so we were able to capture some adorable family shots too.

I think these boys are definitely going to be some heartbreakers when they grow up.

Memphis Germantown Newborn Photographer | Rose

Baby Rose came to visit me at my studio for her newborn session when she was 10 days old. As soon as I opened the door, I was blown away by how gorgeous she was. I mean… check out that head full of gorgeous hair!

For newborn sessions I like my babies to be asleep so I can get them in all those adorable, squishy, newborn poses. Rose’s mom commented on how she sleeps all day – a newborn photographer’s dream, right?!?! Well, we should have known that we would jinx it by talking about it. During her session, I think Rose may have slept for 20 minutes max. Luckily for us, when Rose was awake she was very content and happy. She had the best eye contact I have seen. If I didn’t know how old she was, I would have sworn she was at least one month based on her eye contact alone. While we did get some great sleepy posed shots, we also lucked out and were able to capture those big beautiful eyes. Rose was lucky enough to get the best of both worlds during her session. Here are just a few of my favorites from her session.

Memphis Photographer | Heirloom Wood Photoblocks

I am so excited about my newest product line. These heirloom wood photoblocks are breathtaking. Heirloom wood photoblocks come with a fine art linen print hand mounted to 3/4″ wood with hand sanded beveled edges for a slightly aged or “Heirloom” look. No wood color or grain shows through these prints, so you get the look of a wood print with true color and clarity in the printed image.

Heirloom Wood photoblocks are available in square, rectangle, or circle shape and come in a variety of sizes. All photoblocks come with a key hole slot on the back for easy hanging or can be displayed on an easel. I have several samples in my studio, and the response to these have been overwhelming. These are definitely my new favorite way to display portraits. I have already ordered some of my children, and I can’t wait to get my hands on them.

Memphis Family and Baby Photographer | Cole

Memphis Family and Baby Photographer | Cole came to see me last week for his one year session. Cole is one of my “First Year” babies, which means I have photographed him since he was a newborn. It is always bittersweet when my “First Year” babies come for their last session. I have watched Cole grow so much in the past year, and turn into a little man right before my eyes. Everyone says how quickly babies grow up, but it happens even quicker than you realize which is why I love my “First Year” package so much. I remember Cole and his chubby cheeks at his newborn session, his coos and giggles at his four month session, his belly laughs at his eight month session, and his serious face and those blue eyes at his one year session. In addition to capturing Cole’s first year milestones, I have also grown to love his parents. They are so genuinely sweet, the type of people that would bend over backwards for somebody. I have loved working with this family for the past year, and hope to capture their family grow for years to come. Here are just a few of my favorite shots from the family portion of Cole’s one year session.

Memphis Maternity and Newborn Photographer | Parker

Memphis Maternity and Newborn Photographer | I first met baby Parker’s mom, Lauren, during her maternity session. Lauren selected a stunning dress for her session, and I couldn’t have been more thrilled with the way it photographed. We took Lauren’s maternity portraits in late February when most things are still dead and brown, so we chose to take advantage of the golden wheat grass available that time of year. The wheat grass and the golden sun made the perfect background to showcase Lauren and her growing belly. Just from our short time together during her maternity session, I could tell that she was going to be an amazing mom. She was full of excitement and anticipation about the arrival of her baby girl, Parker. Here are just a few of Lauren’s maternity portraits. I think we can all agree, Lauren made being pregnant look GOOD.

One of the best parts of being a maternity and newborn photographer, is watching clients become parents for the first time. I love when they walk in my studio and are so proud and excited to introduce me to their newest obsession in life. When I first laid eyes on baby Parker, I was immediately drawn to her head full of dark brown hair – it was gorgeous! We incorporated lots of fun colors into Parker’s session including purple, mint, and some pops of yellow. If you have followed my work for awhile, you will now that I can’t photograph a newborn without at least one neutral set-up so we threw that in as well. Baby Parker was a perfect angel during her session, and we even captured multiple smiles. Here are just a few of my favorite portraits from her session.

Memphis Newborn Photographer | Luke

Memphis Newborn Photographer | I first met Luke’s family when they won a mini session giveaway with me nearly three years ago. When Luke’s mom contacted me to take his newborn portraits, I was thrilled to reconnect with this sweet family. I typically schedule newborn sessions when the baby is roughly 7-10 days old. Since Luke was in NICU for a few days after birth, he didn’t make it to his session until he was 22 days old. While we were all a little nervous that he might be past the super sleepy “poseable” stage, he surprised us all and did amazing at his session – he even gave us quite a few entertaining faces.

Luke’s mom mentioned that his nursery colors were navy and tan, so I chose to use these colors for his session. We also decided to use some white, which ended up being some of my favorites. I loved how the white backdrop made Luke’s skin look so creamy.

Memphis Baby Photographer | The last time this little guy came to see me was at his studio newborn session. I can’t believe how much he has changed in six short months. Rowan was still perfecting his sitting skills during his session, which is always fun to capture. He was full of giggles, funny faces, and has the most breathtaking blue eyes. I am so glad his parents chose to capture this sweet stage in life with a studio session.
